Unfortunately, you cannot download eBooks to your iPad unless the publisher has given you the option of downloading the book in, possibly in .pdf form. In which case you should download the file which you can then read at your leisure.
If you are logged on to the University's Eduroam network you should be able to browse the catalogue as you would if you were on any desktop machine on campus. If you are off campus you will need to use the "Digital Library off-campus login" on the Library homepage to sign in before you will be able to access any eBooks.
You can access the Library's eBook collection by using the Library catalogue and limiting the search results according to 'Books' and 'Full Text Online':
You can then click 'View it' to read the eBook on your device. It is likely that the page you are directed to will be optimised for mobile devices when so you may see a slightly different layout to normal.
You should be able to browse the book as you would on a desktop/laptop machine.
