An embargo would usually be applied to a thesis and means that the University has formally restricted access to it. Embargoes last for a set period of time and could be for a number of reasons, such as the work containing commercially sensitive material.
You will be unable to view theses on the Leicester Research Archive (LRA) until a set date. See 'Embargo on file until' field on the image below.
You may be able to request to view an embargoed thesis in our Special Collections (rare books) area by selecting 'place hold'.
