What support is available for essay writing?

Essay writing, and academic writing more broadly, is an important part of study for many degree programmes. It will involve developing a new set of skills, which you will continue to hone through practice, feedback and guidance.

Much of what you will learn about this topic will be through your course, in the form of lectures, examples, feedback and discussions with your module leaders. However, there is additional support available through the Academic Skills Centre.

  • Guidance on editing and proofreading (we cannot proofread work for you, but can advise on strategies to improve your proofreading skills)

The Academic Skills Centre also runs workshops on dissertations in term 1 and term 2.
