Should you forget your Library card we will attempt to give you access to the Library. Please do note however that the University requires all staff and student to carry their identity cards when on campus.
We currently operate a day ticket system which can be accessed in the locker area of the library foyer. Login to the machine with your IT username and password and a day ticket will be printed for you. If you exceed the day ticket limit you will need to speak to a supervisor on the desk and may be asked to return home to collect your card.
If you have lost your Library card please inform us as soon as possible. We advise that you should contact the Registry straight away and we will block your card on our system. Due to the self-service nature of the services the Library operates we do this as soon as possible as it prevents any potential misuse of your card. If you locate your card after reporting it lost we can remove any blocks on the card and you can keep using the Library services.
Once you have requested a new card from Student Services you will be provided with a receipt. This receipt can be used to gain entry to the Library and borrow any items you bring to the Service Desk until your new card has been made up.
It is worth noting that you should not share your Library card with anybody. This is against Library regulations and can result in your card being confiscated. Should you lend your card to anybody the items checked out on the card at that time are considered to be your responsibility and any fines, or invoices accrued will be placed against your name.
