If you think you have lost a Library book please inform us at the Information Hub on the ground floor of the Library, telephone 0116 252 2448 or email library@le.ac.uk. Let us know the details of the book that you have lost.

We will search the Library to ensure that it has not been placed back on the shelf without being discharged from your account. Please search your room and check with any friends or colleagues who may have borrowed it.

If, after this, it is still missing we will invoice you for the cost of the book, a standard fee of £55 per item plus £7 handling charge.

We understand that some items may be able to be obtained for less than that amount, and therefore we would accept the most recent edition of the lost item should you wish to buy a replacement copy. This needs to be in new condition and not previous Library stock. The handling fee of £7 per item is required per replacement item so that it can be appropriately catalogued and added to our Library Management database.
