If you have reported a book as missing from the shelves of the library, the time required before we find it depends on several factors:

  • Whether we find it on the first search
  • How many copies of the book we have
  • The number of students we are helping

Library staff will conduct several searches to find it, over approximately two weeks.

If the book is found: it will be placed on hold for you, and you will be notified by email.

If the book is not found and we have more than one copy: a request will be placed on your behalf so that when another copy is returned it is held for you.

If the book is not found and we have only one copy: we will contact you by email regarding the options available.

Should you have questions at any stage, feel free to speak to a member of staff in the Library, email library@le.ac.uk or call 0116 252 2448.
