Our Getting Started page is a useful introduction to using the University Library. If you ever need assistance using any of the Library's facilities and resources, please ask a member of staff who will be happy to help. Library staff can be found at either the Service Desk or the Help Zone of the library (please see our hours of staffed services here).
You can search for materials held in the library on either the catalogue terminals (located on each floor), or by logging on to a pc (either on- or off-campus) and accessing the library homepage. Along with the print items held in the library, many of our books and journals are available as e-resources (these can be accessed via the library search on the library homepage). If you require any help in using our library search, please speak to a member of staff. You can also make an appointment with one of our librarians if you require more detailed assistance or advise on subject-specific literature searching. We have several self-issue and self-return terminals in the library which you can use to borrow and return any loanable print items.
We have a range of study space available in the library, incorporating silent, quiet and group study zones. There are also bookable Group study rooms (you will need to login via the library homepage) and a Digital Reading Room (including a touchscreen table and interactive wall). We have several PC rooms in the library and loanable laptops are available to borrow from the Help Zone. Smart Printers are available in all the PC rooms and these print, copy and scan to email.
