If you are a University of Leicester student, you can request a loanable laptop, either 48 Hour loan or 28 Day loan, via our Library search the same way you would request a book, if all of the laptops are on loan. This request will not change the due date of the laptop, but will ensure that once a laptop is returned you will be notified via e-mail and one will be kept to one side for you. We will hold the laptop for you for one day, at the Information Hub. If there are multiple requests, the request that was made first will be fulfilled first, and so on.

The laptops are called 'Loanable 48 hrs laptop' and 'Loanable 28 days laptop' on the Library Search. You can also search for 'loanable laptop' to find them, or type in 'laptop' and filter to Content type > Other.

Please note that the loanable laptops are intended for short-term use. If you require a laptop for a longer period than 28 days and are unable to obtain one for financial reasons, we would recommend that you contact the University's Welfare team at welfare@le.ac.uk or 0116 223 1185. They will be able to advise whether any further support is available to you.  Additionally, any laptop loaned from the Library should not be taken out of the United Kingdom.
