If you are a current, registered student you can collect a new student ID card from the Information Hub in the David Wilson Library (ground floor). This card will also work as your Library card. You can find our opening times here: https://le.ac.uk/library/using/student-library-services.

If you are a new campus-based student you will receive your Student ID card once you have completed your in-person ID/Visa Checkpoint. If you are a new distance learning student, you will instead be sent your Student ID card in the post once term begins.

Please Note:

  • Once you have received your new ID card it can take up to 48 hours to start working everywhere on campus
  • You will also need to make sure that you've activated your card before you start using it to register your attendance. You can do this by holding it against any reader for about ten seconds until the reader shows green.
  • Do not store your student ID card with or next to mobile devices, for example in your phone case. Doing this may de-activate your student ID card.

If you are attending teaching events on campus and are without your student ID card please tell your School immediately after any teaching event you attend in person. Information about how to contact your School can be found here - https://le.ac.uk/a-z/departments.

Please also note the senate regulations detail the use of student ID cards found here - https://le.ac.uk/policies/regulations/senate-regulations/senate-regulation-2.
