Is the campus safe? The University of Leicester campus is a safe place to work and study and we have a 24/7 security team that work across all University sites in order to keep you safe. You will see them in their high-visibility uniform regularly patrolling campus and the surrounding area. This includes community patrols that are carried out daily at key times when people are arriving or departing from the University.

The team respond to a range of incidents and this includes everything from minor reports through to the more serious incidents. But not only do we patrol it regularly on foot and through mobile patrols, we have a strong suite of security technology to support us that includes alarms, access control, Safezone and CCTV. This technology helps us to both proactively identify potential incidents before they occur and also respond to incidents when we have been alerted to one.
