A request to defer your graduation ceremony must be put in writing and emailed to graduation@leicester.ac.uk.
You will then be provided them with the following options via an email. Students are usually permitted to defer only once.
Deferring options:
- Graduate in absentia - which means you will not not attend a ceremony but you do graduate. You will need to choose to have your awarding documents posted to you or to collect from campus after the ceremony. You will need to complete the graduation registration in MyStudentRecord to indicate you are not attending.
- You can defer your graduation to the next graduation ceremony. Please note you will not receive your awarding documents until after that ceremony. If you would like to defer, you must email graduation@leicester.ac.uk, stating the reasons for deferral so the Graduation team can consider your request.
