Q. How do I download ebooks from Ebook Central?

Ebooks from Ebook Central can be downloaded using the Ebook Central Reader app. Follow the instructions below to install the app and download books onto your chosen device.

Download the app

We recommend that you download ebooks for offline reading onto personal devices. The Ebook Central Reader App is not available on university-managed student devices.

To download the app onto a personal device:

1. Go to the app installer page.
2. Select the download option for your device.

If you are using a university-managed staff device:

1. Go to the Software Center. 
2. Find and install the Ebook Central app.

View ebooks in the app

When you have identified an ebook you wish to download on Ebook Central:

1. Select Download Book.
2. Click Confirm.
3. Copy the code.
4. Open the Ebook Central Reader app.
5. Enter the code and Submit.
6. Once your account has synced, your downloaded book will automatically appear in the app. 

Register a new device

Each time you download the app onto a new device, you will be prompted to link the app to your Ebook Central account by entering a login code. To find the login code:

1. Open Ebook Central. 
2. Click on the profile link in the top navigation bar to open your Ebook Central account. 
3. Scroll down to EBC App Devices and click Manage/Get Code. 
4. Click Get Login Code.
5. Open the Ebook Central Reader app.
6. Enter the login code.

You may register the app on up to 6 devices. For more information on how to remove devices, please see the manage devices section below.

Manage devices

To check which devices are linked to your account:

1. Login to Ebook Central. 
2. Click on the profile link in the top navigation bar to open your Ebook Central account. 
3. Scroll down to EBC App Devices and click Manage/Get Code. 

You will see a list of devices. To remove a device, click the Remove Device link (found to the right of the device details).
