How do I make links to books or journals that work will off campus?

Answer

To make links to the Library's books, journals or databases that will work off campus, you need to add the Library's proxy server link to your link.

For example, to https://www.clinicalkey.com/#!/browse/book/3-s2.0-C20220033766

Add http://ezproxy.lib.le.ac.uk/login?url=

To make

http://ezproxy.lib.le.ac.uk/login?url=https://www.clinicalkey.com/#!/browse/book/3-s2.0-C20220033766

If your link looks like this:

https://www-clinicalkey-com.ezproxy3.lib.le.ac.uk/#!/browse/book/3-s2.0-C20220033766

or this :

https://www-clinicalkey-com.ezproxy4.lib.le.ac.uk/#!/browse/book/3-s2.0-C20220033766

edit it to make it more reliable:

Step 1 – remove .ezproxy3.lib.le.ac.uk or .ezproxy4.lib.le.ac.uk including the initial full stop (period) to make: https://www-clinicalkey-com/#!/browse/book/3-s2.0-C20220033766

Step 2 - Replace any hyphens in the first part of the URL with full stops (periods) to make: https://www.clinicalkey.com/#!/browse/book/3-s2.0-C20220033766

Step 3 – Add the proxy link to make:  http://ezproxy.lib.le.ac.uk/login?url=https://www.clinicalkey.com/#!/browse/book/3-s2.0-C20220033766

For advice, or if a link you have made does not work, contact your Academic Librarian
