Do we subscribe to Ancestry?

Answer

Yes, but our subscription only works on-campus. You need to be on a university campus PC, using the university wifi, or on the university VPN. Ancestry is listed on Databases A to Z [https://le.ac.uk/library/search-collections/databases-az/a] and in Primo.

If you are working off-campus in the UK (but don't have access to the university VPN) you can try your public library: most UK public libraries provide access to Ancestry.

Ancestry.com is one of the main online resources for researching family history. It is also very useful for local and social history. It gives access to birth, marriage, and death records (1837-2005); census returns (1841-1911); military service records; migration records; trade, street and telephone directories; local newspapers and more. It now has international coverage.
