How do I access Westlaw Edge UK?
Answer
To access Westlaw Edge UK from the Library homepage, click on Databases A-Z > W > Westlaw Edge UK.
The first time you try to access Westlaw, you will be prompted to create a 'Thomson Reuters One Pass' account. You need to register with your name and university email address. One Pass allows you to personalise your Westlaw experience (save favourite items, set up email alerts, add highlights and notes etc.). You should not require a 'Registration Key' - please contact the library if you are unable to log in without entering a key.
Sometimes when you are directed to Westlaw from your reading list, or your browser has been idle for some time, you may come across a different Westlaw UK / One Pass login page. If this happens, scroll down and click on 'Access through OpenAthens'. You may then be prompted to select the University of Leicester from a dropdown menu, and/or prompted log in on a university-branded screen with your usual university IT username and password.
If you are still having difficulty accessing Westlaw, please follow the steps below:
- Use a computer or laptop (not phone or tablet)
- Use the Chrome internet browser (not Safari)
- Access Westlaw via Library Search or the Databases A-Z on the Library website (not a Google search)
- Try clearing the cache and cookies on the internet browser
If you continue to have difficultly accessing Westlaw, please contact your academic librarian on librarians@le.ac.uk
