About us:

Archives and Special Collections holds an extensive collection of rare books, manuscripts, historical photographs, engraved portrait prints and personal archives, as well as the institutional university archives, relating to the history of the University of Leicester.

These are often unique and rare items which mean they require special handling and care. Although they cannot be borrowed from the library, you are very welcome to consult items in our reading room, which is located in the basement of the David Wilson Library. We operate on an appointment basis so please email us in advance to arrange this.
