The Archives Catalogue contains descriptions of archives held by the University of Leicester Archives and Special Collections, East Midlands Oral History Archive and British Institute for Libyan and Northern African Studies.

University Archives and Special Collections

The Catalogue contains collection and item level descriptions for archive collections held and managed by the University Library. These include the University of Leicester Archives, papers of Joe Orton and Sue Townsend, sections of the Leicester Mercury Archive and archives relating to the museum profession and museum design companies. For information on our rare book and other collections, please visit our Special Collections homepage

We have many uncatalogued collections, and are regularly adding new records to the catalogue. Please contact us to enquire about uncatalogued collections.

Archives can be consulted by appointment in the Special Collections reading room, located in the basement of the David Wilson Library. Please note that retrieval times vary as some records are held off site. Please email specialcollections@le.ac.uk or telephone 0116 252 2056 for further information.

The East Midlands Oral History Archive (EMOHA)
