We cannot give a precise amount of time that it will take for your request to become available.

When you place a request on a normal loan copy of a book, one of two things happens.

If the book is due to be returned within 7 days of the request being placed, the original due date will stand and the user who has the book checked out will not be able to renew it further. Providing they return the book on time, you will be able to pick it up from the Express Zone on the day it is due back.

If the book is not due back for 7 days or more then the book will be recalled. A notice will be sent to the user who has the book advising them that they have 7 days to return it and that its due date has been amended. Again, providing they do not return it late, you should be able to pick it up from the Express Zone 7 days after you placed a hold on it.

Items will be available for collection for 5 days.

In both cases you will be sent an email notification that your book to ready to be collected.

We monitor the requests that are placed and buy further copies of books when necessary.
