How do I access the medical Clinical Key?
Answer
The best way to access Clinical Key Physician, the medical Clinical Key, is via the Library Databases A-Z or another link provided by the Library, or via this link. If you are taken to a University of Leicester login page, login with your University IT credentials.
If you reached the Clinical Key home page via a search engine, click Login, and use your personal account, or go to Step 1 below.
If you are on a journal article, book or book chapter, and cannot see the full text, look for the box of options headed "To access this content, choose one of the options below". Choose Login and go to Step 1 below.
1. Choose OpenAthens
2. Search for University of Leicester
3. Select "University of Leicester" (not "University of Leicester NHS")
Login with your University credentials if prompted.
Create a personal account in Clinical Key for added features. If you already have a personal account, click Login and enter the details in the Username and Password boxes. To create one, click Login, then Register Now, underneath the login boxes.
If you already have a personal account in another Elsevier resource (Science Direct, Scopus, Clinical Key Student Nursing and Midwifery, Clinical Key Student Pharmacy), you can use that account here.
If you are using an iPad, click the three lines in the top right to see Login - watch this video for a demonstration.
If you have used NHS Athens in the same or recent browser session, you may be denied access to Clinical Key. If that happens, clear browser cache and cookies and try again.
If you are still having problems, contact librarians@le.ac.uk.
There is a separate FAQ for Clinical Key Student Nursing and Midwifery and Clinical Key Student Pharmacy, which are separate resources.
