How do I use the Clinical Key Student Bookshelf app with the nursing and midwifery Clinical Key?

Answer

The free Bookshelf app enables you to view books from Clinical Key Student Nursing and Midwifery offline on your own device.    It does not work with Clinical Key Physician (the medical Clinical Key).

  • Download and install the app called ClinicalKey Student Bookshelf.  There is no space in the word ClinicalKey.  Please note the main Clinical Key app does not work with our nursing and midwifery Clinical Key.

  • On the Clinical Key Student Nursing and Midwifery website create an account for yourself.   Login details for the site are at https://libraryhelp.le.ac.uk/faq/242334.

  • Add books to the Bookshelf on the website.   Do this by opening the book or any chapter, then clicking Add to Bookshelf.

  • Open the app.    Under “Welcome to ClinicalKey Student Bookshelf” click Sign in.

  • Under “Log In” click “Nursing users, log in here”.

  • Enter your Clinical Key account details - email address (watch there are no spaces at the end of it!) and password.

  • Go to the menu (the three lines in the top left corner) and tap Update Library to synchronise with your Bookshelf in the website.  You need to be connected to wifi or data to do this.

  • In the app, tap a book to download it.   You need to be connected to wifi or data to do this.

  • Once a book is downloaded tap Open it to open it.  You do not need wifi or a data connection to read a downloaded book.
